Igor Patrick is a journalist specialising in international coverage, with a focus on China, Latin America and the United States.

Igor is the South China Morning Post's Latin America correspondent, based in Rio de Janeiro. Before that came the US-China relationship, covered from Washington, and a posting in Beijing for O Globo. Since 2020 Igor has written a column on China for Folha de S.Paulo, and edits the newsletter "China, Terra do Meio".

Igor holds a master's in China Studies from the Yenching Academy at Peking University and a second one in Global Affairs from Schwarzman Scholars at Tsinghua University, and was a research fellow at the Wilson Center's Kissinger Institute, studying the globalisation strategy of Chinese state media.
